TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE

My work as a therapist is rooted in the belief that healing happens in connection.

Frances Cameron

I specialize in substance use treatment and support clients who are navigating the challenges of recovery, whether that means reducing use, finding balance, or building a life free from substances. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and collaborative – I walk alongside you as you explore the patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape your relationship with substances.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a high-level athlete. That experience sparked my lifelong interest in the mind-body connection and the ways our nervous system holds both resilience and pain. Today, I integrate somatic therapy, psychodynamic insight, and mindfulness-based practices to help clients find relief from the pressures of perfectionism, self-criticism, and the "no pain, no gain" mentality that can keep us stuck.

Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to go through it alone. Together, we'll work to understand the roots of your struggles, develop tools for nervous system regulation, and reconnect you with your authentic self. At the center of my work is a strong, trusting relationship where you'll feel safe, respected, and never judged.

If you're ready to explore new possibilities in recovery, heal underlying wounds, and create a more grounded, fulfilling life, I would be honored to support you on that journey.

My background:

I earned my degree in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, with clinical training in Psychodynamic therapy, Jungian dream analysis, and school-based family therapy at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy in San Rafael, CA.

I also hold certificate training in Hatha Tantra Yoga, a somatic practice that integrates breath, meditation, and movement to foster deep internal awareness and nervous system regulation. These approaches allow me to bring both body-based and insight-oriented practices into the therapy room.

In addition to my private practice, I work part-time at Family Spring in Marin County, where I specialize in substance use treatment with teens who are on probation for drug and alcohol use. This work has deepened my expertise in supporting young people and their families through recovery, accountability, and healing.

Before transitioning into the field of therapy, I earned my MBA from the University of Sydney with a focus on Leadership Training & Development and worked extensively in Corporate Social Responsibility. My background in leadership, community impact, and resilience-building continues to shape my therapeutic lens today.
